Uniqueland works with indigenous Zenú artisans from the city of Tuchín in the Córdoba province of Colombia. The Zenú use caña flecha—a fiber harvested from green palm plants that grow in the marshes of the region—to create hats, jewelry, and bags. The raw fiber is dyed naturally using trees, fruit and seeds from the region. One of caña flecha's most notable uses is for the woven hats often associated with Colombian culture, the sombrero vueltiao, traditionally used by Zenú women as an offering to prospective husbands.
