The Mayan women who make this beautiful jewelry can spend anywhere from an hour to nearly two days to complete the meticulous beadwork that goes into each individual piece of jewelry. The artisans are paid fair wages and work in a safe and clean environment. Many of the women, who live in the highlands of Guatemala, work at home so they can care for their children while earning an income to support them.
