This ornament was handmade in India using recycled wire and beads by artisans in a fair trade workshop near Moradabad, India. A susbtantial 5", it's nonetheless quite lightweight.
Artist's Story:
This ornament is made by artisans at a fair trade workshop near Moradabad, India. The workshop is funded by Noah's Ark, a private NGO that provides money for raw materials and machines to over 100 artisan groups across India in exchange for proof that all employees are paid fair wages and work in safe and clean conditions.
The NGO also runs education and water sanitation projects to benefit the children of the artisans. Artisans are paid 10%-15% above the local rate.
