Sensational earrings meticulously handcrafted by skilled fair trade artisans in India. Traditionally, generations of the artisans' families have been silversmiths. But they've put their well-honed skills to use on less expensive materials such as the silver-plated brass and copper in these earrings. They're about 1 3/4" long. We have a beautiful pendant and cuff to match.
Artist's Story:
The fair trade company behind this product is dedicated to preserving the indigenous art forms of India by supporting the artisan communities who uphold these traditions. It reinvests all profits--after covering operating costs--back into these communities through micro-finance, health care, and educational programs.
The revenue earned through the sale of these handicrafts is used for need-based development programs throughout India, under the auspices of the All India Movement for Seva (www.aimforseva.org).
